Application Case of Large Kiln Tail Flue Gas System Compensator in a Cement Clinker Production Line with an Annual Output of 5,000 Tons

1.Core Challenges:

Extremely Heavy Self-Weight Load: As shown in the figure, this section of the R/D bend has an enormous self-weight, placing extremely high demands on the load-bearing and support design of the corrugated pipe. Circumferential instability during hoisting and operation must be prevented.

Multi-Dimensional Displacement Compensation: The system not only experiences axial thermal expansion but also lateral shear displacement due to uneven foundation settlement.

High-Altitude Operation Risks: The installation site is located within a scaffolding array tens of meters above the ground, requiring the compensator to have "zero-deviation" installation adaptability to minimize high-altitude operation time.

 

2.Solutions: For the extreme working conditions of this project, our technical team was deeply involved in the pre-design phase:

Customized Selection: A large-strut lateral corrugated expansion joint was adopted, made of high-temperature resistant and stress corrosion-resistant SS310S/SS321 stainless steel to ensure fatigue life under alternating thermal stress.

Enhanced Structural Design: Reinforcing rings and limiting rods were added to the outside of the bellows, protecting the bellows elements from damage during hoisting and effectively absorbing the significant blind flange force generated by bending.

 

3.Customer Value and Feedback: 

By installing our high-performance bellows, this project successfully achieved:

30% Increased Installation Efficiency: Precise end-pipe dimension control enabled one-time alignment during on-site hoisting, eliminating the need for repeated cutting and adjustments.

Zero operational risks: Since its commissioning, the system has withstood multiple temperature cycles, with no signs of deformation, cracking, or leakage at the connections.
